Friends of Friends
We were introduced to the bride and groom by mutual military friends of ours. So far, all of our wedding couples are friends of friends. We have always known someone at each of the weddings we have photographed and that is just the best. It always takes away a bit of the “formality” and allows us to be us. Which we wouldn’t want it any other way!
The Adventurers
Alan and Christen are just cool. They are explorers and enjoy adventure. When we walked into their home during the getting ready portion of the day, Andy and I couldn’t help but be amazed by the memorabilia in their beautiful home. Each room was artistically designed with music, art, and history from their lives together.
Their honeymoon is going to be filled with over-landing Jeep adventures with their tent attached to the rooftop! We are living vicariously through them to say the least. Christen and Alan, y’all better take a ton of photos to show us when you get home!
Let’s Have Brunch!
My favorite meal of the day is always brunch, so when they told us during one of our meetings prior to the wedding that they were planning a brunch wedding, we were pumped. They had endless Bloody Mary’s, Mimosas and a coffee bar, quiche, donuts, pancakes, and fruit! If brunch wasn’t your thing, they also had turkey and prime rib with potatoes and veggies.
Milford Hills did a wonderful job on the food and it was also just a gorgeous venue. The staff was so helpful throughout the day!
The Best Part
We are always up for an adventure, so we decided to bring a couple bottles of champagne for the bride and groom to shake up and then share a glass during sunset. Little did I know that Andy invited all the guests still there for this end of the day toast. I am so thankful he did, by the end of the day OUR cheeks hurt from smiling so much!
